Germany is the only major destination where a strong student can earn a globally respected master's while paying essentially no tuition. Public universities charge a modest semester contribution rather than a fee, which means your real cost is living expenses — a fundamentally different financial proposition from the UK, USA or Australia.
The country's engineering and applied-sciences reputation is not marketing. German universities sit at the centre of a genuine industrial economy, and programmes are closely tied to employers in automotive, manufacturing, energy and increasingly software.
The catch is admission. German public universities are selective and process-heavy: Indian students need an APS certificate, a blocked account, and in many cases German language ability. The German student visa is the most process-heavy of the major destinations, and the sequencing matters: the APS certificate and blocked account both take time and both gate the application. Students who start late miss intakes for administrative reasons rather than academic ones.
